In principle, a foreigner who wishes to go to Spain as a tourist must obtain a visa, processed in the Spanish consulate in the country of origin or residence. However, there are some States whose citizens can travel to Spain without a visa, with a valid passport.<\/span><\/h2>\n

However, that you can travel to Spain without a visa does not mean that you can enter freely. In effect, you must also meet other requirements, which we will explain below. Otherwise, the immigration official may refuse your entry to Spain and you will have to return to your country.<\/p>\n

Travel to Spain without a visa: present the return ticket<\/h3>\n

One of the documents that you must present is the return passage to your country of residence. The date of this can not be more than 90 days after your entry to Spain. It is not advisable, either, that said date be open.<\/p>\n

Travel to Spain without a visa: justify the accommodation<\/h3>\n

In this case there are two possibilities:<\/h3>\n

Accommodation in a hotel. You will have to present the reservation information and the confirmation by the establishment. If it is a tour of several cities, it will require the confirmation of the agency that organizes it, with details of the itinerary.
\nLodging at a relative or friend’s house. You require an invitation letter, which your host must process beforehand at the police station of his domicile. The letter must be sent to you (you will be the one who must show it to the immigration official).<\/p>\n

This is one of the most important requirements. You must justify that you have 90 euros per person and day of stay, with a minimum of 810 euros. It can be in cash, both in euros and the equivalent in another convertible currency, or credit cards. In that case, you must show that you have a credit balance for these amounts, through the corresponding bank statement. By the way, the extract taken from the Internet is not, in principle, accepted.<\/p>\n

Exceptionally, the immigration official may ask you to present a medical certificate that you do not have a contagious disease. However, this requirement will have been disseminated in advance. It is, as we said, something exceptional, when there are epidemics in the country of origin.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, you can deny your entry to Spain if you have already spent your period of stay (90 days) in the last 180 days prior to the new entry. It is also normal for you to deny your entry, even if you have spent more than 180 days, if you were more than 90 days and you did not get the corresponding extension of stay. In fact, during those more days you would have been in an irregular situation, which gives the immigration official a good indication that you again think about staying longer.<\/p>\n

An important point to note is that the verification of the requirements is something that immigration officials do not do with all travelers; It is, as it were, random. That is why you have heard a relative, friend or acquaintance, say that he has entered Spain as a tourist and that “they did not ask for any document other than the passport.”<\/p>\n

This can be totally true, but it does not mean that the same thing will happen to you.
